Default Dansette add on unit

I should I suppose post in success stories, but Reforming a capacitor and replacing too others is hardly recipe for a rebuilding success.

I thought I'd share this new old stock unit that someone gave me to look at.

It was made 48 years ago TO THE DAY. 14th April 1964

Or yesterday, even.......

As a standalone piece of kit it's interesting and even useful- with a matching (condition and model) player it would be something special!

Looks like a pair of ECL86s in there. If so, it ought to pack a bit of a punch .....

With certain Dansettes (possibly the Conquest Auto) you could fit a stereo cartridge and then use an add-on amplifier and speaker like that to give stereo.

Isn't that wonderful!

"Dansette" + NOS + rare stereo add on = £££ on eBay, surely!

Nick.

The guy who gave it to me to service bought it some time ago and couldn't remember what he paid for it.

He has a Dansette record player with stereo cartridge and was now bringing the add on to provide him with stereo.

The valves are ECL86's and yes does pack some punch.

The quality is OKish, I suppose what you'd expect from a Dansette.

He's not selling though.
