Default Ekco AD75 knobs

This would be a *bump* of my original post from June but it seems to have been deleted. I'm still looking for all three knobs, have spent a long time fruitlessly rummaging through boxes of knobs at the various swapmeets over the summer.

I'm looking for two small knobs as per the pictures, and one of the central larger ones. I don't have access to one to measure, but its about 45mm diameter as best as I can guess. Here's hoping!

I haven't. I assume that if any member had anything he/she would be happy to sell me, then they would make contact either publicly or via pm.

Hi Dickie,
I enjoyed reading your thread about the on-going restoration of your Ekco A75, and was surprised to find on here that these knobs are so rare and desirable. I stripped down a Murphy A170 about 20 years ago and had the three knobs in a parts drawer until recently, using one in my Avo EM272 Zener Diode Tester project:- https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...d.php?t=203948

I have attached photos of the other two, one has a grub screw for a round shaft and the other is a push-on fit. I hope that this may at least give you some hope in knowing that these knobs were used more widely than on those iconic Ekco models. However, do feel free to send a PM if you are interested in these off-springs from the Murphy side of the family.

Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris,

Sorry to be so picky but those knobs are not quite right! The side flutes on the Ekco knobs extend all the way along the body of the knob whilst those on the Murphy knobs stop a few mm from the back. I have a couple of the Murphy knobs to hand, and will probably use them in lieu of the correct part.
Either way, thanks for posting and offering them.

You're welcome, I can use them with a clear conscience in a future project then.

Cheers

Hi Chris,

If those two knobs are still available, I would be very interested as I have just posted a ‘wanted’ message for the same thing - feel free to reply there.

Many thanks,

Phil
