Hi all.
Anyone got any service info on one of these please, as I have one with a duff nixie tube. Also, are they any good? Thanks Tim

Hi!
If they're wire-ended nixies I may be able to assist - I bought four small new ones for a clock project that I never started! ***Alternatively*** - if you're willing to send the meter to me I am willing to:- 1) Repair it with new nixies; 2) Provide a complete parts list; 3) Draw you a full set of circuit diagrams. I believe these meters were based on an early version of the "dual slope integration" principle, and were built on three PCBs. If I can be of help please let me know! If you'd rather not send the meter I'll need you to measure its original nixies so I can check if the ones I've got will fit! By the way - is your duff nixie simply broken or physically missing, or does it appear intact and simply not glowing? If it appears intact you may simply have an o/c anode resistor! Many thanks, Chris Williams Last edited by Chris55000; 4th Oct 2007 at 6:52 pm. Reason: Addition! |

Thanks for the advice Chris.
The meter has all Nixie's present, just the left most one is completely dead (not even the decimal point works). Happily I have a wire ended spare. Thanks for the advice re anode resistor/s. I'll give that a whirl, although I haven't actually opened the meter up yet.

Hi!
...Part 3!!! Please Note! The Epson Scan Utility I used to get these pages added the "002" suffix to the DMM2 filename and Adobe Acrobat's peculiar numbering of extracted pages from a large file is why there seem to be gaps - in fact there aren't! Please let me know if anything's still missing! Note also that I wasn't able to get hold of the "BP2" Battery Pack and "SP2" Shunts Accessories Page! Any 12-14V rechargeable battery can be used with this whilst you can probably make or buy shunts from the info supplied! Chris Williams Last edited by Chris55000; 5th Nov 2007 at 4:12 am. |
