Default RCA 5T5 How to remove tuner knob?

Dear all,

I was wondering how could I remove the tuner knob of a RCA victor 5T5 model.

(please see attached image).
The other knobs were removed with a simple pull.

Does the tuner knob work similar, or is there a screw somewhere? I don't want to force when pulling without making sure that there are no screws holding it.

Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Diniz from PORTUGAL

Hi Diniz Can you have a look inside the set? I once had a different set with a retaining clip inside. It had to be squeezed together to remove knob. This was only on the tuning knob.

I hope this helps, John.

Hi John!

It is not easy to take a look from the inside of the set, because there is a metal plate covering that part.

But please see attached images.

Thanks,
Diniz

It might be worth while going on www.antique radio .com, the USA radio site and asking the same question, before you go any further..
I have a later RCA radio/record player and the knobs on that are all held with spring clips and are very hard to remove.
Mike.

Nothing obvious in your photos, best follow Mike's advice.

John.

It looks like the tuning knob is a dual concentric type. In which case the centre knob will have to come off first.
I have found these types of knob normally have a grub screw on each of the knobs. Look carefully it may be disguised and filled with hard wax.
