Unhappy BSR C129 motor needed

Hello the primary winding on this motor has gone o/c and I am looking for a replacement motor if anyone has one knocking about or even the whole deck would be useful to me. The ironic thing is I had one of these decks for a couple years and about six months ago I had a clear out and gave it away via this site
Many thanks

Hi Leslie, I have quite a few motors removed from decks, is yours an isolated low voltage winding, or tapped as in an autotransformer.

Note that the motor can be fully dismantled and the coils removed.

It looks like the low voltage type. What is it out of?

It is then. Did you have an amplifier fault, or do you think the primary just developed shorted turns?

OK so probably an 18v isolated sec winding.
As it is the pri burnt out you can dismantle (dovetail in lams) and fit a new pri winding from virtually any similar size motor.

Bill it belongs to a friend I don't know what led up to the fault , the only thing I have check on the amp is the main smoother 1000UF which measured 988 on my capacitor tester, is there anything else worth checking?
Ed thanks for that info that's useful to know.

As it appears the biggest winding( i.e. most turns) there is no doubt it is the primary 250v winding. I have a couple of decks in my loft at home salvaged when I retired 10 (y) tears ago. Will have a look in the fullness of time!

You may be lucky and replacing the winding cures the fault. If it overheats again, I'd check the other winding, the rectifier and the IC.
