Defiant Radio Story
I found a photocopy of the attached article entitled "Story of Defiants" from the Co-operative News dated 30th July 1991, among some service data I am scanning.
It doesn't belong on a service data CD-ROM but I feel it should be shared. Enjoy! |

... including an early reference to Mr. Scroggie. Strange (or perhaps not) how the same few names keep coming up.

Re: Defiant Radio Story
Thanks Paul, its an interesting article and worth downloading.
Contains 70 year old examples of "Rip Off Britain" - eg, GEC abandoning an order for manufacture of radios for CWS half way through, the Co-Op being barred from exhibiting at the Radio Manufacturers Show at Olympia in the early 1930s. With one or two exceptions Defiant were fairly average radios though. |
