Default Ferguson 624RG

Hello, can anybody help with a Ferguson 624RG please. I've got good volume on the radio but very low volume on the BSR deck. They use the same control so I think that rules out the speakers. Thanks.

I would think the cartridge is failing. If you touch the red wire on the back of the cartridge and get good a good loud buzz, then it's likely to be the cartridge. Just try pulling off the connectors and putting them on again first, just in case of oxidised connections. You can get a BSR SC11M from Maplins or Musonic. I notice you use the word "speakers" - there is only one speaker in your radiogram. Edward

Hi Edward, thanks for that. You were correct. It was the cartridge.

Benjamin,

Have you replaced the coupling capacitors? If so, you ought to do so as soon as possible.
