Default Monitor Type 4436

Hi All,
A long shot - Monitor Type 4436 is an ex-RAF airborne low frequency oscilloscope which I have been using for many years to look at audio waveforms and the like. It has a 3.5" CRT and comes in one of those crinkly pressurised cases that were used on aircraft.
The Y Deflection system has recently gone noisy, rendering the scope unuseable.
Does anybody have any info or knowledge of this bit of kit? What it was part of? used for? which aircraft?
I have tried all the usual sources for circuit info without success and suspect it is a part of some larger system rather than an item in its own right, so I am hoping to have more success if I can search on the 'larger system'
Or somebody out there might know all about it!
cheers

A picture would really help - I think the type number rings bells for AI18, but there are so many parts to that system that the numbers could just be similar.

Peter,
I believe this is an oscilloscope primarily intended for maintenance of the Vulcan NBS (Navigation and Bombing System, which included H2S Mk9).
It is covered in AP2894L.
PM me your email address and I can send you a pdf of the manual.
I have one of these units, although well down the 'round tuit' list!
