Default Arm resistance when playing halfway through records.

Hello.

I have a Philips Stella ST571A, it has a Garrard deck but the arm shows resistance when playing halfway across the record causing sticking. I tried tweaking the screws at the rear of the arm but it hasn't fixed the problem. Can someone advise what I can do to fix it?

All advice will be appreciated.

I had the same problem with my "Conquest auto"

Try re-greasing the groove in the cam gear, It's what I was told to do for a BSR turntable and it worked for me.

(if your deck isn't an auto-changer, then I can't help. Sorry)

You don't specify which Garrard deck, but a common problem is the arm which nudges the trip pawls getting a bit sticky or the pawls themselves likewise. Remove the platter and look at the mechanism under while moving the tonearm manually and you should be able to see it.
