Default HMV 1122 Radio.

Morning all,

A question concerning HMV 1122: I removed the chassis and noticed the dial back plate is heavily corroded or coated with something. Is this original or really just corrosion? Considering the radio chassis is in a hell of a state anyway so I would not be surprised, however, the coating looks too even so I wonder whether this is by design. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Stef.

I don't have an 1122 but isn't that just a 'felt' covering ?
I'd remove the dust by carefully using a dry paintbrush then you'll be able to see more clearly what it is.

Hi Andy, you are right, it is some sort of red felt. Having removed the dust it is quite obvious.

Thanks Andy.
