Re: Looking for lettering for my amplifier.
You could look for a local engraver.... one way to a very classy result, and it doesn't wear off.

Re: Looking for lettering for my amplifier.
Quite agree. "Proper" engraving is preferable to laser marking. Some of my preamps come in for service after twenty years looking like new, long after silk screening would be coming off.

Re: Looking for lettering for my amplifier.
I've used this free online tool and been happy with the result. I used inkjet transfer film on a painted panel.

Re: Looking for lettering for my amplifier.
Can of worms there Mick, ohh for an easy way to label amps. I've used Letraset, but the rub on transfers are no longer made, are hard to use to get a good result and any you find on ebay may have degraded.
As mentioned about the only simple-ish way is to use PC software and a printer, see - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b310TZgflRw . Then there's this place - https://www.vintagebrassplates.co.uk/ grand labels, not cheap. Andy.

Re: Looking for lettering for my amplifier.
Having had a think about this & done a bit of searching online I found this place - https://www.stickershop.co.uk/produc...e-cut-stickers the prices look ok, about £28 for 100 50mm x 10mm die cut stickers, but that's just one quick quote, I'm sure if you give them a bell it may be possible to get a sheet made up with things like "Volume" "Input" "Phono" etc on one sheet. I'll be looking into this as I reckon it'd be easy to get rid of any excess labels you didn't want.
Andy.

Re: Looking for lettering for my amplifier.
I paid someone on the "fiverr" website to re draw in photoshop my amp plates and stickers from pictures and measured sizes . Then had my local sign writer print them in color. The results were excellent. They can be given to a nameplate maker for metal photo printing if needed in metal.

Re: Looking for lettering for my amplifier.
You can have these if you like. I had them made at a local engravers for a few pounds. They're all a bit different, but I got a selection of matching ones to cover a disastrous (and expensive) spray job. Just pay the postage if vinrads or anyone else wants them.
(The 'white' ones are actually metallised chrome effect.) If mine are no good, ask your local key cutter/shoe repairer/engraver what they can do that matches what you want. Ian |
