Default Southgate Amateur Radio News Website Editor Obituary

I guess most radio amateur members of this forum will be well aware of the Southgate Amateur Radio News Website. I haven't looked at it for many years, but an amateur radio friend mentioned to me that the site was down because sadly, the editor, Richard Brunton, G4TUT, had suddenly passed away.

In looking into it, I found an obituary broadcast by Jeremy Boot, G4NJH, on an American Amateur Radio News Podcast.

He stated:

"Richard died on 21st October as a result of a fall. Though an intensely private man with no close family, he was known the world over for editing the Southgate Amateur Radio News Website, which - for decades - he updated on a daily basis with items of news in the world of amateur radio. He also broadcast the weekly 'CQ Serenade' programme on the SW Radio.DE Website":

The Southgate News website is down, so whether anyone else will take it on remains to be seen.
It was clearly a labour of love which must have taken much of Richard's time.

I guess he possibly also edited the Facebook page, which is still accessible, but nothing on it after October 8th.

Really, I'm not 'in the loop, in amateur radio circles, so other forum members might be better informed.

No doubt RSGB will know of the sad news too and will pay tribute to Richard for his extraordinary efforts over many years.
