Default Sourcing a double can cap

Just wondering if anyone knows where I could obtain a double rated can cap, sorry, don't really know the correct terminology.
The 0.5uF side appears fine but the 1.5uF side is shorted.

Double section capacitor or two-section or twin section.

Modern ones are a lot smaller. You can always carefully rip the guts out of your dead one and fit a pair of modern single section parts in the liberated can. It's a popular way to keep a set looking original.

I also believe the BVWS stock some double capacitors for sale to members.

Thanks, it would be nice to keep it looking original but failing that would these suffice? I'm assuming they don't need to be polarised.
Its for a reel to reel tape player for added info.

Though to be honest looking at how its wired it looks like it is in parallel so would a single can 2uF cap be ok?

Personally I'd get a lot of five or ten 0.47μF X2 caps and use one for the 0.5μF half and another three in parallel for the 1.5μF.

What's the application? Is on a motor? If they are in parallel as wired you could get a 2.2u motor run cap that would look right or two 1u 250v electrolytics in parallel if not across a motor.

The BVWS ones are electrolytics, so scratch them if the application is AC, of course.

Motor start/run application? Small values, so small motor... Tape recorder?

Yes, sorry. Should have been more specific on the application.
It is AC and motor/fan start cap on a reel to reel tape player.
Think I have found a better replacement, just need to check the physical dimensions to ensure there is adequate room for it.
Thanks again.
