Default Filling screw holes in knobs

Hi again, I would like to know what was used to fill in the screw holes in the knobs of the radios. I believe it was used to protect from shock. Is this true. Is it still available. Regards, Dick.

Yes if it's an unearthed AC/DC Chassis. I use old children's wax crayons to colour match.

Something like this could be cut to make tight fitting plugs.

Beeswax seems the most likely stuff, these days hot melt glue.

Wax was the standard, melt it into the hole, easy to do with the soldering iron.
