PM sent. Many thanks.
I have the brige rectifier on its way and will post again in a few days when it's replaced. Don |

Re: Philips PM3215 Oscilloscope problem
Hi
I have received the thermal fuse thanks to barrymagrec. The bridge rectifier came in the post yesterday and is now soldered in. I did a few checks before applying any mains and no longer have the short that I had originally. However, there is a bit of an anomaly, with the psu board totally unplugged I have a short between the negative 30V and the ground of the dc supplies and I can, as yet, see no connection or any failed component that might cause this. Any suggestions welcome before I try running it up on a variac. Don m5aky Last edited by vosperd; 9th Apr 2021 at 12:07 pm. |

Re: Philips PM3215 Oscilloscope problem
OK. My eyesight probably needs checking. It looks like there is a direct connection to ground at V206.
Magnifying the diagram it shows a connection rather than a crossover. Don |

Re: Philips PM3215 Oscilloscope problem
just to say the the scope is now working fine I would appear that it was just the bridge rectifier that was faulty. I will be using it with a temporary fuse just to be sure then I will wire in the thermal fuse.
Many thanks for the help and advice. Don m5aky |
