Thumbs up Multiview T35 5 Channel modulator Firmware wanted.

Hello All.

A Bit of an odd request, Although not OT for this forum, As i suppose you could class it as a standards converter of sorts.

The Multiview T35 boxes output 5 Digital channels, Converted to 5 UHF channels.

I have one of these boxes and I am trying to find a copy of the firmware and RSD editing software. My box is stuck in a boot loop.

The manufacturers forum has an issue with its security software. Preventing any new users signing up, Thus not being able to download any software.

If anyone happens to have a copy of the Firmware and the tool. It would be much appreciated!

Kind regards,

Jan

Strange...I bought one of these off eBay back in November and joined their website with no problems at all. I waited a few days for registration to be approved and then I was able to download the right software. There are a couple of versions of the software and you need to have the right version or it's curtains......

Anyway once mine was updated, all was well and it now works superbly.

Is yours the slim box or the 'thick' box?

Hi Sideband.

Yes, very strange. Their 'Captcha thingy' expired at the end of last month.

Mines one of the thick boxes.

Many thanks.

The site is still working for me. Let me know what version firmware you have....it should tell you via the MENU button.

OK I'll look it up and see if I can find the right files. You will need a PC with a serial 'D' connector and a null modem cable. If you only have USB sockets, you may be able to use a USB to serial converter (I always found those a bit flakey). I actually borrowed an old laptop from work that had the required serial port. There is a loader program to run first and then when the PC is 'talking' to the T35, the software update can be loaded. Full instructions are given.

By the way, can you check the hardware version of yours? There should be a label on the bottom which will say something like HWV F00.

The hardware version is actually shown underneath on the rating label, top right corner of the label and will say HWID Exx where xx is the version. There are several SW versions on the site depending on the hardware version so we need to make sure you get the right one. As an example mine is version E00 so I used the appropriate software for versions E00 to E02.

I have a sneaky feeling that your version may be the same as mine....

I have the software for both the "thin" and " thick" versions of the T35. You will need a null modem cable and a suitable laptop running windows XP.
The reason why the box is resetting is that it cannot handle the mheg teletext the software does correct this. To make sure this is the fault with yout T35 switch on and remove the tv aerial. Then go through the set up for all the 5 channels and set and store the teletext to " live teletext" the receiver will then work normally but without teletext as the UK no longer transmit standard teletext, If you want the two "Villa" software files please PM me.

Hi Guys.

Massive thanks to Davewantsone for the Email containing the software!

For Reference, The Hardware Version of my unit is HWID: E01 and the product code is 6501535.

I will update this thread once i have done the update. I just need to find the RSDEdit Tool.

I had searched everywhere for this software. I even asked on 'the other forum', Which resulted in my post an account being deleted for some odd reason.

Thanks again

Best regards,

Jan

Have you done the settings to "Live teletext" for all 5 channels to make sure the box is functioning OK Do this before doing any software upgrade. If the box is constantly re booting after making the change to "live Teletext" on all channels there may be another problem!

P.S. When you say it is in a boot load loop. Do you actually get it working for around a minute before re booting? If so then it is the MHEG teletext that is causing your problem.

Hi. Yes the box displays live TV on all channels for around a minute or so. then resets.

I Managed to turn off the Teletext EPG on CH1. then the buttons froze up.

After a quick email to the RSD webmaster. the site now works as it should

Kind regards,

Jan

You must take the aerial lead out to do all the channel settings to "LiveTeletext" This will stop the box re-booting whilst you change the settings to the 5 channels. Then reconnect aerial.
