Default Golden Transformer.

Can anyone ID this heavy transformer? My immediate thought was it was from a Leak Stereo 20, but it lacks the voltage adjustable socket.

Looks like it could be from a Linear Concord amplifier or one of that family.

"Looks like it could be from a Linear Concord amplifier or one of that family." Ditto.

Yes, agreed. Not the best but a good one.

Now all I need is to find which of my reference books has the colour code so I can test it for shorted turns.

Thanks.

The Linear Concords that I ever encountered had silver painted transformer shells.
Did they have a "Rolex" version?

Yes, if you can call them that.
In fact mine was a very rusty gold one when I first got it.

There are some photos of gold ones on the internet plus some very similar RSC amps which were from the same factory, I think.

Well there you go. The ones I know came from Denmark Street or else Charing Cross Road. Need an Amp - don't have that much money. They were open chassis with no outer cover.

Thank-you all. I can't get to this for at least a week, but I'll post the resistances to help anyone else who might want to compare results.
