Dansette Imperial...Control arm issue
Hi Guys,
I have an issue with the control arm on the Dansette Imperial. I works fine apart from when i load either a LP or a couple of singles etc. The records don't sit level when i place the control arm across. I have checked underneath the control arm and the spring is there, but potentially it doesn't have much spring to it. Is there something that I'm missing that could cause this. The spindle pin seems to be fully in too. I believe the deck is a BSR UA15SS3B. Cheers Skintin |

Re: Dansette Imperial...Control arm issue
It looks as if the "step" on the stacking spindle is not sufficiently proud to hold the records level. I am wondering if the boss that the spindle locates in has shifted around? There should be a small slot in it at 2 o'clock. This will allow the spindle to fully locate (when rotated to the right position and pressed down) and the "step" will spring out. Yours is a late model Imperial dating from 1966.

Re: Dansette Imperial...Control arm issue
In the pics, the overarm doesn't look far enough over, should be more toward the spindle.

Re: Dansette Imperial...Control arm issue
it looks to me as though the end of the control arm is bent downwards it should be level

Re: Dansette Imperial...Control arm issue
I thought i could possibly be the arm bent, but it looks straight and level.
Is this lever is the right place? as indicated in the picture. |

Re: Dansette Imperial...Control arm issue
The overarm has to be fully over to prevent the record that's stacked from tilting.
EDIT: post crossed. Lawrence. |
