DAC10 Help Please
I have just started to assess a Bush DAC10 that I bought at a Harpenden auction in 2013 to see what work is required.
I am hoping a DAC10 owner can help. First, the broken mountings at B are presumable where there were mounting clips for the glass similar to those at A, is that correct? The screws that hold the escutcheon on the front of the cabinet come through at C. Can I assume that they are not used for mounting anything else? Next, and the main purpose of this thread; I can't see how to mount the strip that carries the push button labels. The rubber "pip" at A presumable presses against the glass scale when the chassis is in the cabinet which suggests to me that this strip is mounted on the chassis. There is a spacer B (found in the bottom of the cabinet) that may or may not be part of the mounting. The last picture shows a top view of the chassis but no sign of where the strip goes. If any DAC10 owner can tell me how it is mounted or better still take pictures of the mounting I would be very grateful. |

Re: DAC10 Help Please
Between the missing clips and the glass tuning scale? Maybe measure the center to center distance between the two rubber pips and compare that to the distance between where the missing clips should be on the panel (Points B in the 1st pic)

Re: DAC10 Help Please
What I didn't say is that the labels have to "look through" the five little windows in the glass scale. If the strip is fixed at the broken mountings B then there would need to be hanging brackets of some sort.

In the 1st pic, to the left of the left hand window near the top left hand corner of the glass I'm sure I can see a circular imprint, if so is that from the rubber pip? Lawrence. Last edited by ms660; 17th Jun 2017 at 5:16 pm. |

Re: DAC10 Help Please
Yes that looks perfectly possible Lawrence. Those fixing points at B and extra long clips so that they reach down to where the strip should go. Thanks.

Re: DAC10 Help Please
Thanks for the push in the right direction Lawrence, I have manage to fabricate a couple of clips from some horticultural glass retaining clips and some sleeving.

No problem, looks ok now Col, would be nice though to see a photo of the original set up.

Re: DAC10 Help Please
Yes it would. I expect it would confirm that we have done it correctly and that the spacer in the second picture in post # 1 was a red herring.
