HMV 1618A Sound problems
I have got an HMV 1618a and have sound problems. Their is sound on the radio however when I turn it to turntable (I assume it's the "G"on the wavelength knob)and try it, I can hear the music from the stylus area but no sound through speaker. There are 2 cartridges to the radiogram and I tried both and even put my fingers on stylus and on the pins without cartridge on and there was no sound from speaker crackling or anything.
Anyone who could give me advice on this would be most helpful. |

Re: HMV 1618A Sound problems
Just touch the leads from the cartridge with your finger on a screwdriver, if you get a hum the cartridge must be faulty, if not the fault lies elsewhere, check the wires from the pick up to the radio chassis.

No hum so when you say check wires from pickup to radio chasis do you mean wires from the arm.
