i bought an vintage Sony STR 6046A in second hand, of course.
i notice when i'am listening music on my turntable, the sound bass comes an goes, not always.

Two questions:

1) Only when playing records? So not when playing radio?

2) Does the bass come and go on both the left and right channel? Or only on one of the channels?

The first thing that I would do is to clean all the selector switches / volume/tone controls ,or you could just try working the switches several times sometimes that works , Mick.
