Default E13-12 Tube pinout

Hi All,

I have an old oscilloscope I am trying to use its CRT for a different project. The Tube is listed as an E13-12, from what I have found it is also a 1324S. I have the manual for the scope, a D52, but I have not messed with CRT's much. Trying to identify the pins on the rear of the tube so I dont hook it up wrong.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

That is fantastic!!! Thank you very much. In case you wanted to have a visual of these tube, here is some pics;
E12-13/1324S/CR171 split beam tube.

Seems like a very unique tube with the pins on the side of it. CRT's are a new venture, seem like fun so far.

Also, the high voltage wire that has the boot on it at the front of the tube, does that need to be hooked up? Using this tube as a display, and I'm not sure if that wire is used for exactly. I know it's high voltage, but again I'm showing my ignorance with CRT's. I figured out the rest of the pins I need to use, thanks again for that schematic.

Thanks again!

The high voltage connector is for the PDA, or Post Deflection Acceleration. It applies a high voltage accelerating field AFTER the bean has been deflected left/right (X) and up/down (Y). If the beam was accelerated BEFORE the deflection, the X and Y sensitivity would be much lower. If you want a BRIGHT and well FOCUSSED spot/trace, together with a high deflection sensitivity, then PDA is you method of choice.

Side pins for the deflectors are very common in later tube designs. They cut the stray inductance of running all connections via the base. You get much better bandwidth.
