Default Garrard 2000 Turntable Record Changer Power

Help! I am trying to get this mint condition(see pics) Garrard 2000 to power on in the USA. Bought a step up/down converter. No luck. Any suggestions?

Do you have a DMM (Volts meter) to take readings? Also be aware that if this is a UK version for 220-240 volts 50Hz, it will not run at the correct speed on your 60Hz mains frequency without modification.

Hello and welcome.

Take the platter off (you need to carefully remove the central aluminium trim disc, without bending it!) and then ease off the clip noting its position so you can replace it properly.

Then find the stepped motor pulley and give it a spin. If it doesn't whiz round freely, you'll need to strip and lubricate the motor.

BUT, I'm not sure how this unit will cope with your 60Hz supply; Europe has 50Hz.

Nick.
