Paint for Telequipment scope?
Anyone know what sort of paint was used on the D43 or similar scopes, or where I could get some to match? It's a grey (perhaps grey-green) colour with a texture to it.
The one I'm restoring has suffered a bit, especially the bit round the screen, and could do with a bit of a derust and respray. |

Re: Paint for telequipment scope
There are many vehicle paint supply shops around the country. If you take a sample panel to them, they can colour match to an area indicated by you at around £16 for one rattle can. They will also supply the relevant primer too.
I colour matched some industrial enclosures that were on public view this way. Colin |

Re: Paint for telequipment scope
Hi Keith
VHT wrinkle is the closest you will get these days and you'll need a bit of practice to get it right. They do a grey and I have had very good results in overspraying this when cured with a matching colour. The Telequipment scope colour will probably have been from the BS 381c range orginally (RAL is another) but as mentioned a car paint supplier will be able to match. Really depends how far you go with it. if you google BS381c you'll see some online stuff. There are one or two youtube videos of the performance car folk using the VHT stuff on rocker covers , just so you can see what is involved. Regards Terry
