Re: Tonbridge Audiojumble - October 7th
Thanks Ted, I appreciate the info, I will be in the market at some stage in the future.
I didn't originally intend to get the Akai GX77 I now have, it was available and handy to complete a task I set myself (didn't know I would have to fix it first though!). Good machine but some features I would like to see are missing such as being able to rec/play on L only, L+R or R only. Also can't see why Akai didn't incorporate a system to turn the capstan motor off after say 5 mins of inactivity, an extra way on the timer start switch could have been used to defeat it for those who did not like the extra second or so needed to get the capstan up to speed. When it's on standby there is only one little LED to warn you it's on and I've already unintentionally left it on for some hours.

Re: Tonbridge Audiojumble - October 7th
One of them seemed to be going for a very reasonable price although I didn't enquire about the condition (and it was still there near the end). While I've not used one extensively, they seem to mechanically handle the tape far better than any other domestic alternative.
