Default TCC capacitor.

Hello

Could anyone tell me what polarity this capacitor has to go as it has no + or - on it.
Its leaking badly and i want to swap it. Its an 8uf which iI will swap for a 10uf

Either red rubber stopper one end + black the other -, or may even have a dab of red paint +, usually the metal case is the -, otherwise trace the + off of the rectifier.

With respect, a clearer picture with better lighting would be a great help and also an idea of what set you are working on although basically John has explained the normal method of marking

I would remove it from circuit for a better look, but I suspect the positive end is facing down in your photo.

It's an Ultra 6212 tape recorder which I'm working on.

Will have to take it out and have a proper look.

There appears to be only one 8uF capacitor in the Ultra 6200 series- an HT decoupler for the preamp stages. The negative end is connected to chassis/0V, the positive end goes to the junction of two 220K and a 68K resistors.
