FOC 2 Sony DAT machines DTC-750 & PCM-2300 for spares

Hi,

I have 2 SONY DAT machines that I am sure can be used for parts by a competent tech who fixes these things. Both are offered for spares and anyone is welcome to pick them up from Orpington in Kent.

I can also post them at just the cost of the courier.
It’s a shame to dump them when many parts in both can still be used to fix others.

Please let me know if interested and I will save them for you.

I have a DTC690 which needs spares to get going so I can play back recordings from my band days. I found the deck to have mechanical issues where the tape used to chew up. The previous owner to me had taken the deck apart which was unknown to me on purchase.
Either one of your decks may be good for repair or spares for mine.
They will need posting.

I hope I can help you in this case. Let me find out what it will cost me to send them to you and will come back to you. I will need a postcode however so I can get a quote. Best would be to send you both machines and then you can pick and choose. I am no expert on DAT machines and hope something from these decks might solve the problem you have. I think one of the heads is still ok but not sure about the other.

I was thinking the same even though the transport of both are exactly identical. I await to hear from Martin if he is still interested in a non working machine (since i am offering them for parts) as otherwise I will send you both machines.

Hi guys,

That’s perfect. I shall therefore pack them both and let you know about the courier charge. I’m hoping to have a box available. Just a question... I have a cassette door just for the 750. If Mark is not after fixing the 750 shall I send the door to Martin even though it’s not the same colour?

I shall wait to hear from Mark before I pack them but also worth mentioning that the 2300 is missing the headphones volume knob which I can transfer from the 750. From what I understand Mark is after parts from the transport only?

For sure btw I can tell that both machines have working power supplies and boards. The transports need attention. I am sure these will be useful to both of you and hopefully get one of them running and the other useful to fix the 690.

Morning gents,

I would like to keep the door on the 750 as I would like to get this machine going and the door is different on the 690 so I can’t transfer this across. Im just hoping the transport is like for like. Hope ok.

I happened to pack the items already and as I assumed you just wanted to take parts from it rather than restoring it I packed the door with the 2300. I hope that’s ok and apologies for the confusion. I found an opportunity to pack them this morning as I had some time off.
