Default Fagins Near Exeter

As many will be comming to the South West in the next couple of months I thought I would alert you to Fagins. They have a web site but no mention of Radios here
Note I have no connection to this establishment but have been a Customer for 20 years or so.
Pricing is variable I don't think I ever walked away with a massive bargain
Some of the stuff ahs been there 10 years +
Its interesting place just to walk around its half museum almost!
I have included a few pics but the stuff is spread all over the place.
Its easy to get to a small detour off the M5 at junction 28 if your heading South.
Enjoy

Mmmm, the second picture reminds me of Darkie Delves old emporium in Redruth, God bless him.

I used to go to Exeter a lot 10 years ago ferrying my son backwards & forwards when he was at University there but don't recollect Fagins it's a great pity as it looks like my kind of place, if ever I get down that way again I'll have to look it up ..................

There used to be a place under the railway bridge in Redruth where I bought my second TV22 in around 1994 I was annoyed because they had sold the Pre war mirror lid HMV a few days before for £100
Those were the days of lots of junk shops my favorite was Scudders in Bideford till it was burnt down
Have fun

I can Confirm that it is a wonderful place to visit . I try to have a look round everytime I am in the area , I nearly brought the McMichael TV set as I was going to give it to another forum member who is a McMichael fan but it was not cheap and it was missing most of its valves and it looked as if other bits were missing too but the case was perfect
but if you are in the area , worth a visit
cheers
Peter

Has anyone noticed something odd? There are 5 identical empty radio cabinets ! 4 in first picture and one in last .Look like pre war Fergusons or similar

Well spotted Chip!
These cabinets have never had radios inside them.
I suspect they were from a local small volume manufacturer.
Have fun

It's the thought that counts

Looks like a fascinating place, a proper house clearance style shop which have all but vanished around here. There used to be a couple locally but they have turned more up market now (prices have doubled stock has halved )

That McMichael set has been there for 10 years at the very least - I remember asking about it before I moved to Solihull (several years ago) and absolutely nobody knew how much it was. Things can be pretty pricey in there too and you'll often see lots and lots of weird stuff which is there for years at a time. It's a fascinating place just to go for a visit though even if you can't afford to buy any of it.

The McMichael is £40 as I went in there last week and also almost bought it, but had a LOT of valves missing and some very sad looking components, however the cabinet is really clean and all of the knobs and switches under the panel for the VHF radio / Channel select are there
