Default Good source of rubber drive belts

I have just received my first delivery from this US supplier. No connection with them, other than as a satisfied customer - reasonable price, quick delivery and personal service from Bob. Other sources of belts are available, although I couldn't find a UK based one selling the Teac A-108 belt kit that I required.

They stock a huge range of belts for all types of product.

You might also make note of Russel Industries here inthe States.
They took over PRB (Projector Recorder Belt Co.) and have the best assortment available here in the U.S.

They have downloadable copies of the cross ref. books available too.

Covered within the shipping charges, I understand - we're talking about a goods value under $15 here!

I wasn't referring to your particular case just pointing out the extra costs involved when importing from outside the EU, these extra costs are not covered by the shipper outside the EU.

Yes, I'd obviously prefer to purchase spare parts from the UK but could not find a local supplier. I assume that if a US supplier offers international shipping, all import taxes etc are covered within the shipping charges. How else can it be dealt with?

Have a look at the Pioneer 707 thread 17/3/11 on Tape Recorder section.

All this generally means is that they complete a customs slip and attach it to the package. When the package arrives in the UK HMRC will decide what Import duty and VAT (if any) is payable. The carrier will then collect any cash due from you on behalf of HMRC. The carrier may charge you for this service.

Sometimes packages (especially small/low value ones) slip through the net, but you should not rely on this. Neither should you expect a large concern to falsify the customs slip. It's a criminal offence.
