Default Hard rubber turntable mats

Anyone know how to restore hardened rubber mats?

I have never done this, but I have seen it being done via utube, just use your search engine and put in necessary text, you will be surprised (or not) at how much info is out there.

Yes John, pleasantly surprised. One to bear in mind especially when the original can be used as the design criteria required.

I had a go with one that was rock solid and stuck to the platter of a garrard rc 121. I boiled it and freed the mat. It did make it more pliable to an extent, but it was still not good enough, not like rubber anymore. In fairness mine was very far gone.

In the end I bought a custom sized neoprene rubber one very cheaply from a chap on ebay
