Default Nikko Electronics - supply transistors etc.

Just came across this site today when searching for a supplier of AC127's, OC44's etc. Large range of transistors and other parts. Good prices and postage only £2.50 for orders over £5.

Yes John, they're a brilliant company. I used to live just round the corner from their old premises in Raynes Park while I was still at school, and would regularly pop in on the way back from school for a handful of transistors and ICs. And they didn't charge VAT if you paid in cash .

Their range of semiconductors is vast, and the prices are keen. I ordered over the internet just before Christmas, and the goods arrived in 48 hours.

I'm not 100% sure about their "old-fashioned equivalent" transistors though. They're not NOS, rather Chinese (or possibly Indian) imports. Quality has been variable and they're often listed but not actually in stock. I rebuilt a Hacker Sovereign amp with their transistors a few years ago and performance was awful. But I plan to order some more soon and will see if things have improved.

Nic.
