I may sell the Sky Queen and just try doing the other VHF61 Radio, sort of looks the part in my kitchen. Have to read up on here if sales section ? Thanks

Default Re: Ever Ready Sky Queen battery eliminator.

I built a battery eliminator a few years ago. The LT was derived from a transformer giving 6VAC, rectified and regulated with an LM317 chip and adjustable for 1.4 or 2 volt outputs. The HT was produced by wiring the Secondary of a 12V transformer to the Secondary of the LT transformer and rectifying the output from the Primary, with potential divider resistors across the smoothing caps giving various outputs. Sounds a bit Heath Robinson, but it works. And it cost pennies to build - I think the only component I actually bought was the chip for the LT.
