Presumably it's fed from a relatively low impedance source- with that input voltage and the low bias voltage, grid current will feature over part of the cycle.

Hi Chris.
The stated output impedance of the player I’m using it with is 47K. DC blocking capacitors are fitted on the outputs of the player. Cheers. Simon.

They probably mean 'minimum load impedance 47k'. People, including manufacturers, often confuse 'output impedance' with 'load impedance'.
