if you've managed to damage a 100R wirewound resistor there's little point in replacing it unless you know why it was damaged.

Leave the player as it is and take it to an experienced repairer along with Lawrence's circuit diagram.

Re. the OP's Post #200, replacing a stylus very rarely has any effect on increasing volume.
