Default Public Domain Movies.

Pplenty of people seek out 'source material' to display on their vintage TVs; if you're after such stuff I point you at:

http://publicdomainmovies.net/

where there are hundreds of hours of movies etc to download and view at your leisure. Lots of great 1950s sci-fi B-movies so you can re-live those hiding-behind-the-sofa-while-the-heroine-gets-devoured-by-a-giant-squid moments!

Some are even worth viewing on a modern set, all great fun. Takes ages to scroll through, is there a text list?

It scrolls fast-enough in full video-mode for me. . . Dunno if they have a searchable database. But like you say there's some good stuff there which should keep 'historic' TV-types busy for ages.

The reason I suggested reading the disclaimer is that you have no guarantee where the file is from, malware included or not.
The copyright is something else and ownership is a different problem.

If you are not bothered about what is in the download that’s fair enough.

For a site which may be easy to search within the Internet Archive has a movie section.
