Default Kenwood TS130S

Hi everyone.

A mate of mine has a Kenwood TS130S.

He has his foundation licience and wants to use the rig.

Is there a way of turning down the rig to 10w output as at the moment it's doing around 100w.

I did have a look in the service manual and thought of turning down the finals
board.

I know some people will say adjust RF Gain. But thats not good enough.

What are peoples thoughts. Is there a mod to turn it down.

Thanks Andy G6OHM

Most of the basic level models from Japan were also available as 10W models. They had different PA boards.

You could try to find a board, but it likely comes with a full radio.

The easiest option might be a licence upgrade Not said to be cute, but in terms of total effort.
