Default Looking for copy of RAF Air Publication 2548A (R1155)

Tried to download one from the web but no luck. I am looking for vol 1, chapter five.

I am specifically interested in information on DF loop housing type 3.

Thanks to Tony H for suggesting this.

Wink Re: Looking for copy of RAF Air Publication 2548A (R1155)

Is this the book that's as rare as hens teeth? If so I believe I may have it, if it's possible to scan that is.

PM me to remind and I will try and find it.

This is available to download from the WS19 group archive at
http://www.royalsignals.org.uk/raf.html, document number 38.
Join the WS19 Yahoo group (easy) and follow the instructions to download exactly.

Thanks David and Andy

Yes, the original is probably rare. I wound document 38 on the royalsignals site previously, joined but cannot download it as I use a free email address. So close yet so far...

I just wondered if anyone here had a pdf file they could send email me if convenient.

Thanks for your help and advice.

Regards
Elliott

Try the VMARS site for AP1186 Vol 1 sec 3. This is the wartime publication for the R1155 and may have the information you are looking for.

Does your ISP not provide you with an email address? (Never used mine 'cos it's not particularly convenient), but as a work round here it may help......?

Let me look. I have a copy of the complete 1155/1154 manual and I scanned it a while ago. If it's got what you need where do I send it ?

Elliott,
"I've kept trying with the signals site but still no luck" - there is no point in this if you don't follow the rules exactly, including not using a free email address, you'll simply get 'locked out'. You've just got to bite the bullet and follow the rules, no exceptions.

Right, looked at computer at home and I have a complete scanned copy of AP2548 which has the chapter on types 3 and 4 DF antennas. It is about 15 Meg, what would be the easiest way of getting it to you?

Regards

Yes, I know that! I tried a non-free email address - still no luck.

PM sent Robin - thanks for taking the time to look.

Send me details of your e-mail address.
I have a copy of this manual and a scanner.
It might take a day or two (a hospital trip), but I'll be on it "real soon".

Don't forget that you can get a copy of most air publications from the RAF Hendon archive.

Obviously they charge for the copying so you might want to check just what it might cost.

Guys,
I forwarded them copies of the sections they wanted so there is probably not a need. However, if anyone else wants a scanned copy of this then I can forward it (in bits cos it's big) to them.

If anyone is interested then please send a PM.

Regards

Robin
