I should mention that when we asked people who were interested to come forward a few weeks ago, we had messages from several great candidates, so it wasn't easy narrowing it down to two.

However this does mean we have a good shortlist for future requirements.

If you were one of those who expressed interest but didn't get picked, thank you for your interest and support.

Agree with all of the above. Good luck in carrying out what sometimes must involve difficult decisions. Good moderation is one of the many great assets of this forum.

Congratulations to both!
As I have known Mike for over 30 years I can highly recommend him, we traveled the roads as service engineers together, until Mike went on to much higher things.
Radio Wrangler I may know! but do not recall, the very best to you both.

For a good few years I recall, thank you!

A couple of moderators have moved on for various reasons such as life changes, so we thought it was time to bring in a couple more.

Around six is a good number for spreading the load, even if one or two are temporarily unavailable or less available. If there's too many we can never get to a decision, and if there's too few it takes up a lot of time.

Haha Trevor I was still at college when I first dropped into your shop in Station Road Liskeard and bought that Cossor Scope, must have been 1973 or 4. That meeting was to give me start on an entire career just a few years later.

I don't know about higher things it was a great job back then being in field services, changed a bit now

I would also like to thank everyone for their kind wishes and will try to keep to the high standards set by Paul and the team.

Cheers
