Default Interesting Receiver in cafe in Samarkand

I found this mantel receiver on display in a cafe in Samarkand Uzbekistan, where we were having a spot of lunch a few weeks ago.

Interesting style.
Note band switch at bottom.

Made for the region, as "Tashkent" is on the top band scale.
Unfortunately, other Town scale markings are not clear, nor were they on the actual set.
Band names are reasonably clear though.

For your possible enjoyment.

Interesting site.

Vindication for anyone who has rooted through the haberdashery market stall for speaker cloth (Haven't we all?)

That's the French connection.....

It's slightly restrained compared with some of the really OTT French offerings.
