Default Mike Phelan standing down as moderator

Due to a serious health scare whilst in hospital on holiday in Russia, Mike has been told to avoid any stress, so has decided to resign as a moderator here. However he will remain a member.

Mike is one of our longest standing moderators and the whole moderator team will all be disappointed to lose him, however we fully appreciate the reasons for his decision and wish him a speedy return to full health.

Having met Mike at Golborne I can only say that his incredible technical ability [eg amazingly painstaking rebuilds of extendable aerials] is only exceeded by the balanced, calm and friendly approach he demonstrated as a Moderator. Best wishes as you "clock out" [pun intended] from the Mod role Mike.

Mike, thank you for all your help over the years, both on the public side of the forum and in private via e-mail.

I do wish you the speediest of recoveries, and hope that you will be able to visit the forum as a non-moderator.

Nick.

Mike, you have a well earned rest. Your past work will help many in the future, I refer to the many articles in "Television" you wrote on VCR & TV repair that we can refer to. I hope you will still be able to attend the Golborne meeting.

John echoes my hopes that attending Golborne doesn't count as stressful. Anyhow, Mike, your health is the most important consideration.

Mike - Simply a "thank you" from me for the many hours you have volunteered into helping to make this Forum the success story that it is. Your stepping-down will leave a hole that will be difficult to suitably and to comparatively fill.

All the best for the future,
Al. / Skywave.

Fortunately repairing radios, clocks and attending VR meetings isn't stressful but enjoyable for me so I will be at Golborne, plus NVCF and Solihull if holidays and other things don't get in the way.

Thanks, Keith, but I'll be OK there as my wife and son go to friends at Lowton whilst I go to Golborne and I usually go in my car.
I'm back on the road as of last week.

I have to thank you for the excellent time and your knowledge you have given to the forum and the many articles written in the magazines over the years.
Hope you enjoy the 'rest' and long may you continue to repair all things vintage. I'm sure you will be adding your replies to the forum questions. Best wishes.

Thank you Mike for being the moderator for as long as you have, I have never had the pleasure of meeting you but that said, the advice and help you have passed on in some of my projects and repairs has been worth its weight in gold, I hope your health gains in strength, look after yourself Mike, not many of us around these days.

Best wishes

Ken
