Smile Re: ITI 300-type Telephone

Hi Sam

I'm working on an Indian (ITI) phone at present - quite a few problems but I'm getting there! I found very useful wiring information and a circuit diagram on the following site: www.britishtelephones.com/iti.htm

The diagram is for an ITI 332 phone (with 13 terminals).

Hope this helps

You could always pick up a cheap ITI of e-bay (£10). I think they are junk when compared to a British 332, however I do know a few people who are happy their Indian phones, although I have never seen one that did not suffer from bell tinkle. It maybe that all the ITI phones out there are not converted properly because no one has a proper cct diagram

These ITI telephones are still in operation in many rialway station in India ( mostly remote ones...) . Till 10 /12 years before ITI used to sell the spares of this telephones.

You can ask them. They will help you with actual circuit.
So far I know these telephone that you get in Uk are not replica they rae the real ITI manufactured phone that used to be sold few years ago...or even can be from auction from old stock from Railway.

Also can also ask to some Faculty memeber at "Indian Railway Signal and Telecom Traning College ( IRISET )" in Hydrabad. they are the authority reponsible to giving traning in execution and repairing to all railway signal and telecom personal for new and existing telephone, exchanges etc. They have detail course and persons who give traning on ITI mechanical telephone ( even courseware ) . They will be happy to assist you free of cost . IRISET web page ( today this page is not working....server prob..try tomorrow...)
