Default 2v lead acid cells

This may be of interest - when back in stock!

Just checked and they sell a reasonably priced charger too for that 2V battery.

That looks to be a very useful battery and reasonably priced too. Finding 2-Volt lead-acid cells isn't easy as most are either 12-Volt or 6-Volt batteries.

They have some excellent model kits on their web site, if only I had the time!

RS stock a range of 2V Cyclon cells. These are very tough indeed. Not the cheapest but not stupidly expensive either.

We use 2.5Ah Cyclons at work, they are absolutely bulletproof. I've only ever seen one cell fail and I replace maybe 15 a month. Unfortunately they HAVE to be replaced as part of policy, generally they still have 95% capacity after 4 years.

You see car batteries made out of VERY large cyclon type batteries because of their mega-low internal resistance.

I don't suppose you get to take the unwanted batteries home?
I used to grab the 12v ones from our workplaces alarm, which usually had plenty of life left.
