Forgive my lack of gen on this one zen, but wasn't the original symptom one of visibly low eht and excessive ht on the smoothers. Where are the aforementioned bf transistors in the circuit? Yourre very revered on your normal site, I cant see an old mono set holding you back much longer, members on this site no offence intended, I like the oldies, equipment of coarse! Something in the back of my mind hints that on a digital meter you could get slight readings on the pins you wouldnt usually, as you could with germanium ones, and they would still be OK.

BF transistors are in the 2 IF cans
poss Tony regarding DVM,i will find out when the Ebay ones arrive.yes your correct on the original symptoms, but it seems tv is experiencing one issue after another. CRT theory has been forced out of my head to make room for modern sets i have a headache |

Hi
Tas - I remember those! Just the same as the 550 series to repair - open the clips, Brasso the board and stretch the contacts, then reassemble, only to discover you've put the contacts back upside down so it works backwards... Always brilliant tubes as said above. A nice looking set if not too reliable - as the great LLJ said - pretty little things are often naughty! Glyn |

Re: Philips G17T320-02 B&W TV schematic/help please.
yes Tas,has original channel selector.
just one more part required to complete require the main smoother,it's a 2 X 400MF,which needs to be a specific size to fit into clamp. DIMENSIONS DIAMETER = 38MM HEIGHT = 78MM 2 X 560MF caps in there at the moment, joined with duck tape, which is not really ideal. |
