Default Content of sent PMs

I must be missing something here, but how do you know if you replied to a PM?

There seems to be no 'sent' box. What happens is you get a PM, think you reply, but then the PM goes quiet and you start to wonder if you did actually send a PM. What did you say?

There is a "sent items" Box. Click on the word "inbox" on the top line (Private messages in folder:") and you will get a choice of folders. Also, you get a cranked arrow superimposed on the letter symbol to the left of the message if you have replied.

On the subject of PM's iI believe it is in the interest of the group to clear any old Sent or unwanted Saved mail.

That's a very helpful and constructive reply, Jeremy
Best wishes

PMs are only text and doesn't take up a significant amount of space in the database, however there are limits to prevent people accumulating thousands of PMs.

It's generally good practice to get rid of the unwanted and redundant stuff and just keep the important messages, not least because it makes it easier to find things (that applies to emails as well as PMs). Also of course keep it significantly below the limit so people don't have problems PMing you.

Hi, on the subject of 'Sent PMs', please advise the purpose of the option:-

"Request a read receipt for this message"

Ticking it seems to have no effect.

Thanks - Mike

It should mean that a receipt is sent to you when the recipient opens the PM. I believe, however, that the recipient has the choice whether the receipt is sent.

Mike, if you would like to test whether it is working, send me a test message and I will allow it to send you a receipt.

If you click the text which says something like "You have 4 confirmed and 1 unconfirmed private message receipts." (just below the coloured bar showing mailbox use etc) it shows when/if the messages were read (opened). Obviously this is only for messages where you ticked the option when sending.

It works fine for me.
