Yaesu MD-100A8X Adaption
Hello Gents, I know this is not strictly a vintage radio question but hopefully I won't offend. I have had for some time a Yaesu MD-100A8X dynamic microphone. I was hoping to use it on my FT-8900R VHF/UHF radio. This question is this: can it be done?, and done with some control over the up/down frequency. The mike has an RJ-45 8 pin connector and the standard 8900 fist mike a RY-45 6 pin. Anyone tried this and is there either a pre-made cable or a wiring diagram to make one. Ive search the net without much luck. Thanks in advance, Charlie.

Hello Charlie
it's a question worth putting to nevadaradio.co.uk If an adapter is available, they're a likely supplier.

Re: Yaesu MD-100A8X Adaption
Hi Charlie,
Could you not buy a MH48A6J mike which are advertised at less than a tenner on the Internet, remove the lead from the mike , and rewire this into an 8 pin round plug to fit the MD100A8X. Kind regards Dave |

Thank you for your replies, I have done a bit more digging and found some info, but there may be an impedance mis-match too.
