Restored GEC
Hello All. this is my latest project a wooden cased GEC model unknown I purchased this radio as a result of seeing a picture on ebay the auction had ended so I contacted the seller and got it for a fiver. The on/ off/tone control was goosed but was easy to replace the radio was stripped completely the case was scrubbed clean the sponge on the scale was replaced and the chrome was polished and after a service the radio was reassembled and tested and it works well on all wavebands and looks good too however the sound isn't the last word I have heard better

Re: Restored GEC
Another triumph, Andy, it looks good. The styling reminds me of TVs of the period, especially the speaker grille.
Nick. P.S. I'm impressed with how clean you keep your cooker |
