Default Discosound DJ turntables loud popping noise

I have a Discosound DJ with twin turntables.

When the turntable on the right switches off there is a very loud popping noise from the amp. The left turntable is fine so the problem must be on a part that affects the right side only. I'm wondering whether this is likely to be a cap problem or not.

Any ideas would be appreciated, as this is something I've never had before.

Thanks

There should be a capacitor across the terminals of each motor switch, probably 0.1uF 500v. You should be able to find a replacement inside an old PC SMPSU.

But if there's no capacitor fitted, and yet the other TT works fine without one, then the fault is probably that the switch has dirty contacts or is "tired" and doesn't break the current cleanly. Have a look inside.

These turntables are BSRs and are probably fitted with AC (mains) motors.

The left one has a 5000pf cap fitted which is a .005uf, the right one had none, so I have fitted a .0045uf cap and this has stopped the poping noise in the mid to low volume
