Garrard 2025tc turntable mat - UK Vintage Radio Repair and Restoration Discussion Forum

Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement turntable mat for my Garrard 2025tc. The one I have has become generally grubby and faded. I have tried cleaning it with soapy water and 'Back to Black' to name a few options, but although there is some improvement it's still nowhere near acceptable. It seems there are various designs - I'm not fussy which as long as it's meant for the unit.
Also, is there supposed to be a small circular disc which covers the retaining clip at the centre of the turntable?

Which version of the mat do you have? There were at least two. I'm afraid it's going to be a job to get one without cannibalising another existing 2025TC unit. You could paint it matt black with tyrewall paint. As for the centre trim, you could use a new s/steel washer. Remember these have not been made for over over 45 years and there is no such thing anymore as a "parts stockist". Edward

Thanks for the reply. The version I have is all plastic(?) with no silver insert incorporated in the design, although I am not fussy which version. I've searched the net and it seems you are ok if you have a 301,501 or any other kind of '01'...

You could buy a cork tt mat and cut it down - there's a range of them for sale on ebay. Roger
