Default Identify this "Profumo affair" TV:

In a rather-interesting article on Christine Keeler and the "Profumo affair" there's a photo of the ill-fated Dr. Stephen Ward sitting next to a TV:

See https://flashbak.com/wp-content/uplo...-1200x1182.jpg

allegedly from June 22 1963.

Can anyone identify the TV?

[Full article, BTW, is at https://flashbak.com/christine-keele...street-395302/ ] The "Flashbak" site is worth visiting for those who are into spotting historic artifacts.

Looking at photos of Ekcos from that era there is a definite correlation! In the photo I can't quite make out what the dial on the right is: either a multi-position turret for channel selection [ITV was well-established by 1963] or a radio-tuning dial - if the latter I guess it could be a T293 with its VHF/FM radio [for listening to the BBC from Wrotham?]

My very first television was and Ekco T231. That was 50 years ago but I seem to remember that it had a 12 channel turret that included a VHF radio tuner position. That said, this one looks just like mine and I don't see a radio selection. (I think Mr Ward's set only has 12 selections too.)

Ekco T284 of 1956. Similar appearance to the T231, T284 employs a new range of Mazda valves which have 0.3amp heaters. Much better than the earlier Ekco TV receivers which used 0.1 and 0.2amp heater valves.

Would be considered an old TV in 1963.
