Odd appearance today.
Has anyone else noticed that the appearance of the forum looks very odd today? All the text is blurred, apart from the bold type It's the same on Firefox and IE.
Andy.

Bright and crisp here with Firefox....Except when I take my glasses off then I observe the phenomena you describe.

Re: Odd appearance today.
Very strange, I can hardly read the small script. All other regular sites I visit are ok. My monitor is ok. My daughter hasn't been fiddling...

Re: Odd appearance today.
Also, I've noticed that some LCD monitors, unlike CRT, do like to be set to their native resolution.

Re: Odd appearance today.
Absolutely. My parents' cheap AOC one is hideous on anything except its native resolution, which I had to find by trial and error (it was secondhand so no manual, nothing online, and AOC EU did not bother to reply). But with this correct, and the brightness not advanced too much, it's OK.

Re: Odd appearance today.
It's still doing it. I've checked the monitor settings, they're OK. Yesterday I took a screen shot, but that was readable. It's maddening I can hardly read the type under all your avatars but the type in the replies is OK. It's like looking through mist.
It seems to be an issue my end, thanks for your replies, Andy.

Re: Odd appearance today.
So you look at an illegible screen, take a screen shot and the resulting image is legible on the same PC?
That makes no sense to me at all and I don't understand why only this site is affected.

Re: Odd appearance today.
Could it be a change in the default font setting in your browser? I go on a different forum and because they decide to change their font I get slightly garbled letters like a F that has the centre horizontal missing. Strangely, if I copy and paste the dodgy F into this forum, to show an example it shows correctly.
Perhaps I should add - it's ok in some browsers but I use Chrome and that has the problem Last edited by vidjoman; 3rd Mar 2014 at 1:07 pm. Reason: typo + added info |

Re: Odd appearance today.
Hi Dr Wobble,
Could you advise on the OS version you are using? The fact it's the same on IE and Firefox would indicate that it's something to do with default fonts in the OS itself. Could you maybe post a screen shot? I know you say it looks fine as a screenshot, but it may just point to some clues. I'm now an unemployed IT manager, so I have plenty of time to help you! Trev
